How American Express Delivered Spectacular Customer Service

Hello everyone, this is Scotty with another story of spectacular service.

This story is from Chris at American Express. A little while ago I was looking on the American Express website and I was trying to find a product that I thought I saw advertised on television. After a little bit of what I thought was an extensive search I could not find exactly what I was looking for, so I picked up the phone and called my team at American Express.

I was fortunate enough to get Chris on the other line and after a couple of minutes of fun dialogue he said, “Mr. Werner what can I help you with?”

Well, I explained exactly what I was looking for and Chris confirmed that a particular product wasn't available and then he asked me a question that put a smile on my face from ear to ear.

He said, “Mr. Werner you mind if I ask you a couple of questions so I can find out what specifically you're looking for and solve your problem?”

I thought this was PHENOMENAL!! He asked a professional opening in a conversational way that asked for permission to talk to continue the conversation and gave me a value as to why we should continue talking.

This was excellent! What a change from the way companies usually ask you questions, where they product puke all over you without any concern whatsoever to ask you a couple of questions to find out what is important to you.

Chris and the entire American Express team thank you very much for delivering spectacular service.
